Gettin This Show On The Road

Albuquerque

June 25th, 2008No Comments

We were in Albuquerque Sunday night, which wasn’t all that exciting. I guess since we were so close to being back at home, we just didn’t like anything we saw towards the end. We were actually supposed to go to Vegas Monday night, but we decided that since we would get in late, we would just bag it and take a weekend and go later. So we got up at four A.M., hit the road at five, and drove for about 10 hours from Albuquerque to Anaheim, CA. Boy, was that fun.

We’re in Lubbock, TX tonight. Last night we were in Austin, and I didn’t post because we were working with our web guy Josh until like, 9 o’clock; and by then I was ready to go to bed because we drove about 10 hours from Little Rock to Austin. It was a verrryyy long day.

So tonight we ordered room service, we’re watching Sweet Home Alabama, and tomorrow we’re headin out to Albuquerque. Yeeeee-haaaawww

Little Rock

We got into Little Rock a couple hours ago, and even though there’s absolutely nothing to do here, it’s really pretty. It’s not very humid at all, which is good, and we were able to ship some stuff back home because we over-packed like crazy. Hey, packing light is for girls.

Memphis - Day 2

June 18th, 2008No Comments

Today we went to Graceland. It was FREAKIN AWESOME. There were at least 6 exhibits, one of which held about 56 of Elvis’ jumpsuits. We saw all his cars, including his Pink Cadillac. We went into his private jets, the Lisa Marie and the Hound Dog II. There was an exhibit entirely dedicated to his Army days. Finally we went out to the backyard to the Meditation center, and they had Elvis’ grave, his stillborn twin brother’s grave, his parents’ grave, and his grandmother’s grave, all side by side. Now, if y’all didn’t already know, there’s a controversy going around that the place where they say Elvis is supposedly buried isn’t actually the real grave site. It’s really on the opposite side of his grave. Whether this is true, I don’t know. But it was something I thought about when I was there.

Alright, I’m going to go and try to find something productive to do.

Memphis

We’re staying in Memphis tonight and tomorrow. We drove across the entire state of Tennessee today. I drove from Nashville to Memphis, and it was going great until I tried parking in front of the hotel and ran over the curb. That was exciting.

Oh, and then my mom gave the bellboy our red toaster that we couldn’t take with us anymore. It was a very interesting day…

Stay tuned for more adventures tomorrow…=]

No Good Tunes…

So we just got into our hotel in Knoxville, TN. We’re only staying here for one night, but we somehow managed to bring about 13 bags (for two people, by the way) with us. Don’t ask.

One night\'s worth of luggage for two girls - that’s pro skill

The drive wasn’t all that bad. At first, it was really fun. I think it was all the excitement and adrenaline in our systems. Because after about 20 minutes, the mood quickly died down, and I was forced to go through all FM stations, to try to find something descent (there was barely any signal, since we were in the mountains).

Tomorrow we’re going to hit the road again and head to Memphis for two nights. We’ll do all the touristy stuff, including Graceland (which is at the end of Lonely Street) and the hotel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. These things are a must.

Tune in for more updates on our insane cross country road trip. =]
